Last Week our CEO Barry Murphy & one of our Account Managers, Dylan Kelly attended The Class of 2020 Class Conference in Amsterdam. The conference was hosted in the impressive DeLaMar Theatre and featured leading experts, stakeholders and service providers in the Student Accommodation Sector. The conference offered an opportunity to network with industry influencers from across Europe. Rudy Stroink, the conference host was certainly not shy in pressing the various key note speakers for insightful answers to every possible question asked.

2015-11-04Some of the key points from the conference included:

  • The concept of “Affordability” and how it relates to each market
  • “Red Carpet” experience to both domestic and international students
  • The importance of considering the added value aspect of an international student in the form of jobs, friends, talent and relatives visiting
  • Various themes were discussed by universities including; Community, Choice, and Technology
  • European markets need to be seen as separate and not as “Europe”

Barry - 2020 2Barry’s thoughts on the conference:

“There is a genuine need for substantial growth in the student accommodation market across much of Europe. It is exciting to see so many providers eager to develop attractive service offerings and to differentiate their brands. TCAS Online has a real opportunity to meaningfully contribute to the growth of modern, fit-for-purpose accommodation services through the management platform that we have developed. It will allow providers to ensure that they are following a best in practice approach when it comes to filling the empty spaces in the relevant portfolio buildings”

Barry Murphy, CEO TCAS Online

Whilst Dylan had the following to add:

“The conference was invaluable for meeting with individuals from such a wide and varied cross-section of the student accommodation market place, and for understanding more of the complex cultural challenges in different European countries. It allowed me to network with like-minded individuals and to discuss the potential that TCAS Online could offer their portfolios”

Dylan Kelly, Account Manager, TCAS Online

Barry - 2020Ultimately it is clear that this year’s Class of 2020 conference was a complete success for all involved, and it is possible to suggest that based on the above quotes both members of the TCAS Online contingent had an excellent time and look forward to returning to next year’s conference.
