STUDENT HOUSING CONFERENCE IN LONDON

TCAS Online has attended this conference since it began and it was a very important part of the company’s annual calendars.

<<Being a company based in Dublin, Ireland and having a strong presence in the UK market we find it a very useful event for targeting private sector accommodation providers & suppliers in the student space>>. – Dylan, Business Development Manager at TCAS Online.

The venue was great and it kept everyone close and engaged. There was definitely nowhere to hide as a delegate!  The team were surprised with the small number of vendors exhibiting at the conference. It was a very warm day in London so everyone was in good spirits and most of the networking was done outdoors as people tried to get some fresh air.

OUR FOCUS

Per usual, we decided to attend this event as some of our tier one and tier two clients were going to be in attendance.  It was our intention to learn of the new investment and building projects happening in the UK & Europe.
It was important for a property accommodation software company like ours to listen to some of the industry experts and to hear of any possible transaction activity forecast for the remaining of 2017. We were expecting to meet mainly existing clients and to learn from new vendors that were entering the market in the UK and Europe.

Some of the aspects that interested us more from that event were:

  • Understanding and learning more about what our competition is doing
  • Seeing the emergence of new vendors that may complement our software offering
  • Catching up with clients and current partners
  • Learning of market activity in terms of large scale transitions and market consolidation

HIGHLIGHTS

Some of the highlights of this event for the TCAS team were:

  1. The weather in London is always a positive thing
  2. Having some nibbles and drinks with our clients. Thank you to JLL who sponsored the drinks.
  3. Hearing that the next conference in December is in Birmingham – a change of scenery is always great.

WHAT WE TAKE WITH US

We had a great time learning from industry experts and developing new connections at the conference. We would also like to take the opportunity to thank the following companies for their time at the conference hoping to see them again next year: Fresh Student Living (Jane & Rebecca), Collegiate  (Eri & Alan), Amber Energy (Nick), CRM Students (Stewart),Code Students  (Jamie) and the guys from  Housing Anywhere.

We are looking forward to attending the next event in Birmingham and to see what’s likely to happen in the coming months/years.  All we keep hearing is – “Students Want & Expect More!!!!!! “
